Ourand Appointed to Two Boards of Directors

SEVERNA PARK, Md., November 26, 2008 – Chris O. Communications President Chris Ourand has been named to serve as a board member for two organizations: the Anne Arundel Court-Appointed Special Advocate Program (CASA), and the Independent Public Relations Alliance (IPRA), a section of the National Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.

For CASA, Ourand will participate in the oversight of the organization’s management, fund raising, and events as it fulfills its mission to help abused and neglected children by ensuring their right to safe, stable, permanent homes through the foster care system. For IPRA, Ourand will serve as an at-large member who assists with program and membership responsibilities.

“While there are many commendable organizations where I could donate my time and expertise, these are the two that offer the most inspiring opportunities,” says Ourand. “CASA is succeeding at breaking the cycle of child abuse, while IPRA connects owners of small consulting firms who share best practices; given the rapid change in the online public relations function in the last few years, IPRA is a necessity.”

The IPRA network consists of senior-level public relations, marketing and related communications professionals who own and operate their own practices. Other organizations in which Ourand is active are the Chesapeake Regional Technology Council and the National Capital Business Ethics Awards
