Chris O. Communications Debuts Arundel Business News
SEVERNA PARK, Md., January 27, 2009 – Filling a void for more immediate business news in the mid-Maryland region, Arundel Business News has begun operations with its offering of a free, email-based summary of news from local companies.
Arundel Business News presents a digest of business news based on information issued from firms in Anne Arundel and surrounding counties. New products and services, company launches, earnings, staff changes, awards and other topics are covered in an easy-to-scan format with links to further details when available. Each item is reviewed and modified by an editor prior to publication.
“The Anne Arundel region has always been secondary to the big news media outlets in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, and coverage of business news briefs by local publications is fairly limited,” says Chris Ourand, publisher of Arundel Business News. “With Arundel Business News we are providing an outlet for local companies to have a presence in the marketplace without struggling to get into the trend stories in printed periodicals or making the large commitment to maintaining a blog.”
Arundel Business News was founded on the principle of “News As It Happens” because by the time any news from companies in Anne Arundel and neighboring counties gets into print, it has become somewhat dated and is less valuable. There are more than 42,000 businesses in Anne Arundel county alone, according to U.S. Census Bureau statistics from 2002.
Business executives can become subscribers to the free service by signing up at www.arundelbusinessnews.com, and companies can submit their news to editor@arundelbusinessnews.com. The publication will become more frequent as the subscriber base and amount of submitted news grows.
