Construction Clients Are Digging Chris O. Communications
SEVERNA PARK, Md., March 13, 2009 – With its environment friendly cutter head dredge in use at projects spread across the Chesapeake Bay, Kentmorr EcoDredge has tasked Chris O. Communications with heightening visibility for its offering through a public relations program. At the same time, the agency expanded its public relations agreement with design-build contractor GeoStructures and has added Web site work and a customer outreach program to its list of responsibilities.
Founded last year, Kentmorr EcoDredge provides a sustainable method of removing accumulated sand and silt from channels around the Chesapeake Bay. Unlike traditional earth-moving equipment that scoops material from leaky clamshell-type buckets, Kentmorr EcoDredge makes precise, GPS-directed cuts and then vacuums away the material with low turbidity. It can be pumped onto a beach for replenishment purposes or into a geo-textile filtering device for de-watering and development of a living shoreline. Kentmorr Eco-Dredge is currently restoring the beach at Poplar Island, a site designated to receive “clean” dredged material from the shipping lanes to and from the Port of Baltimore.
For GeoStructures, Chris O. Communications is re-creating the Web site so that it reflects the company’s updated positioning and product line. In addition, the agency is developing and managing a customer-focused newsletter to help GeoStructures stay in regular contact with its customers, prospects and influencers.
“There are pockets within the construction industry that are continuing to do well even though there may be no direct support from the federal stimulus funds,” says Chris Ourand of Chris O. Communications. “Companies like Kentmorr EcoDredge and GeoStructures really focus on sustainability and delivering value, and there will always be demand for them. “
